Déjà-vu?

During watching this film, I was thinking of the TV serials ‘Desperate Housewives’ for a few times: always in a tranquil quarter of middle-class, the housewives inevitablely being desperate, even the movie-long voiceovers sound like so déjà vu.

It also reminded me another feature ‘Magnolia’: the crossing story-lines of a few families, the climax of the story always emerges when the destiny of main characters comes to a final judgement, even once again in a damning raining day! Certainly, this time, we wouldn’t see any animals falling from the sky.

Depending on your experiences of watching movies, I am sure you can pose a more detailed list for proving its cliché. But please believe me: ‘Little Children’ successfully proves itself its originality and sincerity.

Under the subject of adultery, we can find another big element hiding a little bit deeper: the struggle between self-waking and self-negation, the confilct between the willings and the unwillings…Ronnie and Larry are standing for it. Actually, in my opinion, the director Todd Field made the subject another classic in the history of film.

Bravo!
